ccording to recent studies there are still 77 million children worldwide that lack access to education due to poverty. Radical religious leaders and terror networks recruit these kids and give them food, shelter and an education that is based on their radical visions. These radical visions include hate, prejudice, violence and intolerance. An estimated 250.000 children worldwide serve for these radical terror networks and totalitarian nations as child soldiers. It is a ticking social time bomb that needs to be defused. Moreover, children that enjoy education are not properly prepared for the requirements of a globalised working life. Each nation has their own education program that differs on the regional and even local level. Far-reaching reforms on a global level are necessary.

First the inequality among our children around the globe needs to be removed. Our
children are under-taught, over-taught, mis- taught, or not taught at all. Local control must be abolished and the school systems must be restructured. The funding of our school system must be transferred from the local to regional, then to national and finally to a global level. Each child on our planet has to have a guaranteed basic education that prepares him to the needs of a global community. Essential learning tools such as literacy, oral expression, numeracy, problem solving thinking, global social ideas and integration of knowledge need to be part of the every child's curriculum.
More important the global child needs to have access to the use of multiple media and methods, including computers. The time has come that we need to transform education so as to address the human and environmental changes which globally confront us.

The global society has to accept the responsibility to provide an education for each and every child and to structure such an education according to their individual abilities and aptitudes. Our more and more globalised life demands a labor force which is transformed and knowledgeable, highly qualified and specialized, with advanced skills and with the ability to think independently and to communicate well. Children need to be educated in the context of one world. There has to be a standard global educational curricula that reflects the realities of global interdependence.

A new kind of school needs to be established. It could be called The Global Community Learning Center ( GCLC ). The age at entry of each child has to be lowered to two years or even younger. The teacher of our time spends too much time changing the cultural and intellectual habits which the child acquires from his family and social background. Therefore, education has to start on the pre-school level or even earlier. By including kindergarten or infant school into a complex education at a GCLC many mistakes of home training can be corrected.  It's not just the children who need to learn, but also the parents. We need a drivers license to learn how to drive a car, we need a license for almost every important aspect in our every day life, but we are thrown into parenthood without proper preparation. The GCLC could help the parent to cope with problems of parenthood and ensure a happy parent-child relationship. Domestic violence and child negligence will become history.

Education will not be limited to childhood anymore. It will be part of life. Adults will come to
school, that will be open around the clock, with teachers that are able to diagnose the learning needs of each individual and to prescribe appropriate activities. There are still 781 million adults who can't read and write. Social agencies, such as health, job, human service and child care will become part of the GCLC. A community's Senior Citizen Volunteer Center will be added that will narrow the gap between the generations. The GCLC will be not in the schooling business anymore but rather in human resource development.

Once the GCLC is successfully established a global child labor law will be passed. It will be possible to make the granting of work permits to young people up to the age of 18 contingent on either their possession of a certificate of initial mastery or their enrollment in a program leading to a certificate. This way young people will gain experience, make up their mind and decide what path they should take towards their professional career. In the long run this requirement will benefit our global youth and ultimately the global community.
Universities will work very close with corporations to educate and prepare students for the tasks of a long lasting professional career. Students will choose career paths long before they enter the university level and will follow them as they study. Internships and job- shadowing programs will be accompany the universities curricula. It is essential that these activities give the students a thorough detailed and specialized training only in the field of their later professional career. The shortening of schedule and number of classes thus attained
would be used for the benefit of the knowledge they really need.

The global industry and technology along with its innovations, trade and commerce can flourish only so long as an idealistic-minded global community provides the necessary conditions. These conditions are founded not on materialistic egoism, but on the self- denying readiness for sacrifice. Education must establish these moral values and unity of a global community. Therefore, true education will expand all the facilities of the human mind. These facilities are memory, conscience, imagination, insight, intuition and brain. It will be a demanding task to successfully build a global educational system that prepares not only our children but every global citizen for the challenges that everyone will be likely to face in the near future.
