We need an equal solution for our global transportation of goods and people across our planet. vehicle will have a lifetime of about 50 years or more with minimal maintenance. It can operate in the open air or in underground low-pressure tunnels. Yet the underground solution is faster and more environmental friendly. Passengers will travel in these tunnels with the Maglev from the west coast to the east coast in the U.S.A in about 1 hour. Travel time in intercontinental tunnels between Tokyo and London will be less that 3 hours. All regions and continents could be connected without harming the terrestrial ecology. The average consumption of the Maglev in the tunnel will be the equivalent of over 1,500 kilometers per liter of gasoline. The Maglev also has major safety advantages over highway vehicles, trains and airplanes. The distance between Maglev and their speed are automatically controlled and maintained by the frequency of the electric power fed to the guideway. There is no possibility of collisions between vehicles on the guideway. Major developing programs are put into reality in Japan and China. Germany also pushes towards construction and just decided to built one in Munich. There are more innovative kinds of transportation but none can compare to the Maglev in terms of speed, energy consumption and volume.
